WHAT'S Happening To Me? DECODING PUBERTY IN GIRLS
A safe space where girls express their feelings, share ideas, and speak their mind without judgment
Our puberty workshop is designed for girls ages 8-13. Our workshop contains biological, social and behavioral components about puberty. Our program offers the topic of puberty in a relaxed, interactive, and comforting environment where by parent/guardian and child have the ability to learn from our exceptionally qualified health educator(s) and discuss the natural changes that occur during adolescence. Subject matter includes reproductive system, and the major events of puberty, such as breast development, and sweat and oil, acne, the growth of body hair, as well as the menstrual cycle. Difficult topics such as sexual harassment and sexting are explored through age-appropriate scenarios.
Start talking to each other! Discussing puberty can be hard. We make it easier by jump-starting the conversation in class, so you can continue it at home.
Program Goals:
- Identify changes that are common during puberty and ways to manage these changes
- Increase their comfort in discussing and caring for their changing bodies
- Promote a healthy self-image. We want to help, teach, and empower young women for their futures.
The cost of the class is $25 per Girl/Adult pair for the general public, $15 per Girl/Adult pair for Raising BeYOUtiful Butterflies families.
